Shudder has picked up the post-apocalyptic horror thriller Hallowarrior ahead of its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 10, according to Variety.

The film is set to debut on the streaming platform just in time for Halloween season.

Hereditary breakout Milly Shapiro stars as Pumpkin, the last girl on Earth and sole survivor of a devastating plague that has wiped out humanity. Living alone in a desolate wasteland, she spends her days scavenging for supplies—until her quiet Halloween ritual is violently disrupted.

When a ruthless gang of raiders descends on her hideout, Pumpkin is forced into a brutal fight for survival. Armed with whatever she can find—candy, weapons, and sheer determination—she must outwit and outlast the attackers through a deadly night.

The cast also includes Ajani Russell (Betty), AJ Bowen (You’re Next), and Shannyn Sossamon (Sinister 2).

The film marks the feature directorial debut of Ben Sottak, expanding on his 2021 short Scavenger.

Sottak described the project as “a love letter to horror and Halloween,” adding that partnering with Shudder feels like a perfect match for the film’s tone and audience. He also praised star Milly Shapiro’s performance, calling her portrayal of Pumpkin a standout.

IFC Entertainment Group’s Adam Koehler echoed that sentiment, noting that Hallowarrior delivers exactly what Shudder viewers expect—intense scares, a strong atmosphere, and a high-energy genre ride—making it an ideal addition to the platform’s Halloween lineup.

Hallowarrior is produced by Sottak and Emmajane Hoffman for Strange Aeons, Gabriel Rosenstein for The Spitting Image, and Danielle Benedict and Jake Casey for The Dazey Phase, with Shannyn Sossamon and Alec Ring serving as executive producers.
