‘Find Your Friends’: Bella Thorne’s New Thriller Hits Shudder This June

Shudder has locked in a June 12 premiere for Find Your Friends, a savage new thriller that looks ready to drag a sun-soaked getaway straight into hell. A first clip has dropped—check it out below.

The film packs a stacked cast led by Bella Thorne (The Babysitter), alongside Chloe Cherry (Euphoria), Helena Howard (I Saw the TV Glow), Sophia Ali (Uncharted), Zion Moreno (Gossip Girl), and Chris Bauer (True Blood).

The story follows Amber and her tight-knit group of friends as they ditch Los Angeles for a desert escape in Joshua Tree. What starts as a carefree girls’ trip quickly curdles when they realize they’re not welcome in a town simmering with quiet menace. As tensions with locals escalate, fractures within the group begin to crack wide open—sending the trip spiraling into a brutal fight for power and survival.

The film marks the feature debut of writer-director Izabel Pakzad, who drew from her own unsettling experience during a real-life Joshua Tree trip.

“Shudder champions work that refuses to play by the rules,” Pakzad said. “I wanted to make something raw, unapologetic, and bold—and I can’t imagine a better home for this film.”

Shudder’s Emily Gotto echoed that sentiment, describing Find Your Friends as a visceral descent from desert escape to psychological warfare, where paranoia and resentment collide in a fight to stay alive. Expect something that pushes past genre norms and takes a fresh swing at the “final girl” trope.

Pakzad produces alongside Allison Friedman, Andrea Iervolino, Luca Matrundola, Monika Bacardi, and Gary Michael Walters, with Thorne also serving as executive producer.

Find Your Friends premiered at the 2025 Fantasia Film Festival and went on to screen at Fantastic Fest and the Toronto International Film Festival—building buzz ahead of its Shudder debut this summer.
