Shudder has released the first trailer for Hellcat, a tense new horror thriller that traps its protagonist inside a moving camper with a gruesome infection—and just one hour to survive.

Written, directed, and edited by Brock Bodell in his feature film debut, Hellcat premieres exclusively on Shudder on August 14.

The film follows Lena, who awakens inside a speeding camper trailer with a horrifying wound she can’t explain. The mysterious driver tells her they have exactly one hour to reach a doctor before the infection transforms into something far worse. As the pain intensifies and reality begins to unravel, Lena is forced to question not only what’s happening to her—but whether the person driving the camper is trying to save her… or something much more sinister.

The trailer leans heavily into psychological tension, body horror, and mounting paranoia, teasing a nightmare where every passing minute brings Lena closer to an unimaginable fate.

Leading the cast is Dakota Gorman (Natural Disasters), alongside Todd Terry (Breaking Bad), Liz Atwater (The Other People), Jordan Mullins (The Bikeriders), and James Austin Johnson (Saturday Night Live), who lends his voice to the film. Bodell also serves as producer with Andrew Duensing and Nate Eggert.

After making its world premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival, Hellcat earned praise for delivering far more than its deceptively simple premise suggests. What begins as a desperate race against an infection gradually evolves into something stranger, darker, and far less predictable, blending psychological horror with unexpected twists that keep audiences guessing until the end.

If the trailer is any indication, Hellcat isn’t just another infection horror film—it’s a claustrophobic descent into paranoia where every answer only leads to more questions.

Watch the trailer below, and if you’re a fan of slow-burning suspense, body horror, and unpredictable horror stories, Hellcat deserves a spot on your watchlist before it arrives on Shudder this August.
