Parker Finn’s unsettling new take on Possession is officially underway, and the remake has just added three more names to its growing cast.

Filming is currently taking place in New Jersey, with Cam and You star Madeline Brewer, Sweetheart and Lords of Chaos actor Emory Cohen, and Grotesquerie star Nicholas Alexander Chavez joining the previously announced cast.

They will appear alongside Margaret Qualley, Callum Turner, Diego Calva, and Paul Dano.

Finn, who broke out with Smile and Smile 2, is writing, directing, and producing the new version of Andrzej Żuławski’s controversial 1981 psychological horror classic.

Details about how closely Finn’s film will follow the original remain under wraps.

Released in 1981, Possession stars Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill as Anna and Mark, a married couple living in Cold War-era West Berlin whose relationship begins to collapse amid suspicions of infidelity.

But what starts as a disturbing marital breakdown soon descends into something far more sinister and supernatural.

Adjani’s ferocious performance became one of the film’s defining elements, particularly during its infamous subway sequence, which remains one of the most disturbing and iconic scenes in horror history.

The original Possession has since become a cult masterpiece and continues to influence modern horror, with its legacy still visible in films such as The First Omen.

Adjani has previously expressed her approval of the remake, including support for Qualley taking on a role in the new film.

The remake is being produced by Jonathan Fass, Roy Lee, Andrew Childs, and Robert Pattinson, with Marc Bienstock serving as executive producer.

With Finn behind the camera and a cast that includes Qualley, Turner, Dano, Brewer, Cohen, and Chavez, this new Possession could be one of the more intriguing—and potentially disturbing—horror remakes currently in the works.
