‘Hannibal’ Returns to Netflix This July with All Three Seasons

One of the most acclaimed horror television series of the past decade is making its return to streaming.

All three seasons of Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal will arrive on Netflix on July 27, 2026, giving fans another chance to revisit the stylish psychological horror series—or discover it for the very first time.

Despite earning widespread critical praise during its original run, Hannibal was canceled by NBC in 2015 after just three seasons, leaving the story of Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) on a dramatic cliffhanger. More than a decade later, fans are still hoping the series will one day receive the continuation it deserves.

Series creator Bryan Fuller has repeatedly expressed interest in reviving the show and recently revealed that the cast remains eager to return.

Speaking on the Horror Queers podcast last year, Fuller said that Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne, Katharine Isabelle, Caroline Dhavernas, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Aaron Abrams, and Scott Thompson have all expressed interest in revisiting the story.

However, bringing Hannibal back to life has become more complicated due to the current rights situation. Following the passing of producer Martha De Laurentiis, the rights are reportedly in the process of reverting to author Thomas Harris, while MGM/Amazon also retains certain rights. Fuller explained that these overlapping ownership issues have made negotiations significantly more challenging.

The filmmaker has also floated the possibility of adapting The Silence of the Lambs, suggesting that doing so could avoid some of the legal complications tied to the original Hannibal television series and potentially open the door to telling new stories featuring the iconic characters.

For now, fans can once again immerse themselves in one of horror’s most visually striking and psychologically unsettling television series when all three seasons of Hannibal begin streaming on Netflix on July 27.

Could a strong showing on Netflix help reignite interest in a long-awaited fourth season? Horror fans have certainly not given up hope.
