First Look at ‘Sacrifice’ Teases Anya Taylor-Joy as Dangerous Cult Leader

Netflix has unveiled the first look at upcoming genre-bending thriller/horror film Sacrifice, directed by Romain Gavras, and it already looks completely chaotic in the best way possible.

The newly released image gives fans their first glimpse at Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans in the mysterious Netflix project, which blends cult horror, action, dark comedy, and supernatural elements into one bizarre nightmare.

The cast for Sacrifice also includes Salma Hayek, Vincent Cassel, Ambika Mod, Sam Richardson, Charli XCX, Yung Lean, and John Malkovich.

According to the official synopsis, the film follows “a movie star attempting a comeback” who is abducted during an environmental gala alongside two others by a radical group convinced their sacrifice will save humanity.

Additional plot details hint at something much darker and stranger lurking beneath the surface.

One alternate synopsis teases supernatural elements, revealing that armed activists storm a celebrity-filled fundraising gala in search of a legendary relic said to unlock mysterious powers.

Another detailed breakdown confirms that Anya Taylor-Joy plays the leader of a dangerous cult-like group who kidnaps a struggling movie star, played by Chris Evans, during a glamorous charity event packed with billionaires and celebrities.

As the night spirals into madness, the story reportedly blurs the line between performance, faith, salvation, and sacrifice while descending into complete chaos.

IMDb currently lists Sacrifice as an action-adventure-comedy, but the cult themes, supernatural teases, and violent setup could still make it one of the strangest genre releases heading to Netflix.
