Steven Yeun to Star in Netflix’s Supernatural Horror Series ‘Pagans’

Steven Yeun is heading back into the world of horror.

The Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee, known for The Walking Dead and Nope, will star in and executive produce Netflix’s upcoming supernatural series Pagans.

Netflix gave the series a straight-to-series order late last year following a major bidding war over the project.

Pagans follows a grieving father who suddenly becomes the sole caretaker of his two children after the tragic death of his wife. While his son appears to be a typical kid, his daughter Alice is anything but.

What begins as a difficult father-daughter relationship soon takes a much darker turn, with the family discovering that something deeply sinister may be hiding beneath the surface.

Yeun will play the father at the center of the story, struggling to raise his children alone while dealing with the loss of his wife and the increasingly disturbing behavior of his daughter.

Netflix describes Pagans as “equal parts emotional, horrifying and humorous,” promising a series that digs into the darkest thoughts and fears surrounding family.

The series comes from showrunner Joshua Zetumer, who executive produces alongside Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods), Sarah Esberg, Jonathan van Tulleken, and Erica Kay.

There’s currently no premiere date for Pagans, but the supernatural drama joins Netflix’s growing lineup of horror and genre projects.

Netflix is also developing the supernatural young adult series Sid & Zoey, which comes from Blumhouse and Bad Robot.
