Adapted from the tales of Edgar Allan Poe, Netflix’s upcoming series “The Fall of the House of Usher,” which is helmed by Mike Flanagan and serves as his final project for the streaming platform, has just released a 2-minute sneak preview clip.

Produced by Intrepid Pictures, this limited series draws inspiration from various works by Poe. Netflix has confirmed that “Usher” is set to debut on October 12, 2023.

The clip, viewable above, offers viewers a glimpse into the dysfunctional Usher family during a dinner scene, bringing together several of Mike Flanagan’s recurring actors.

“In this wicked 8-episode limited series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick, and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege, and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.”

The ensemble cast includes Carla Gugino (“Gerald’s Game,” “The Haunting of Hill House”), Mary McDonnell (“Scream 4”), Carl Lumbly (“Doctor Sleep”), and Mark Hamill.

Bruce Greenwood (“Gerald’s Game”) takes on the role of Roderick Usher.

Carla Gugino, speaking to Tudum.com during production last year, remarked, “It’s batshit crazy in the best possible way. It has quite a lot of very dark humor, but also really touches the soul.”

The extensive cast also features Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney, and Robert Longstreet.

“The Fall of the House of Usher” is the fifth series developed by Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy for Netflix through their Intrepid Pictures partnership, joining the ranks of the beloved “The Haunting of” series, including “The Haunting of Hill House” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” as well as the critically acclaimed “Midnight Mass” and the recent Christopher Pike adaptation, “The Midnight Club.” Mike Flanagan and Michael Fimognari directed four episodes each of “Usher.”
