Netflix Unleashes Jo Nesbø’s ‘Detective Hole’ Serial Killer Series
Justice and vengeance collide in the newly released teaser trailer for Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, a Norwegian serial killer mystery series inspired by Nesbø’s bestselling Harry Hole novels.
The nine-episode series premieres March 26 on Netflix, plunging viewers into a grim world where the law is anything but clean.
Tobias Santelmann (The Last Kingdom) stars as Harry Hole, a brilliant but deeply troubled homicide detective battling his own demons while hunting a ruthless serial killer. Standing in his way is Joel Kinnaman (The Suicide Squad), who plays Tom Waaler—a corrupt detective and Harry’s long-standing adversary operating on the wrong side of the law.
As the investigation intensifies, the lines between right and wrong continue to erode. With time running out, Harry must stop the killer and bring Waaler to justice before everything spirals beyond control.
Nesbø penned the series, with Øystein Karlsen and Anna Zackrisson directing.
The cast includes Pia Tjelta, Ellen Helinder, Anders Baasmo, Maxime Baune Bochud, Kåre Conradi, Simon J. Berger, and Peter Stormare. Additional cast members include Fridtjov Såheim, Eili Harboe, Atle Antonsen, Manish Sharma, Jesper Christensen, Kristoffer Joner, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Linn Skåber, Jonas Strand Gravli, Sonny Lindberg, Agnes Kittelsen, Nader Khademi, Agot Sendstad, Maja Christiansen, Frank Kjosås, Kelly Gale, Oddgeir Thune, Ravdeep Singh Bajwa, Henrik Mestad, Ingar Helge Gimle, Henriette Steenstrup, Helge Jordal, Eirik Hallert, Anders Danielsen Lie, Ane Dahl Torp, and Dagny.
Tor Arne Øvrebø serves as producer, with Nesbø executive producing alongside Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Amelia Granger, Katy Rozelle, Rene Ezra, Øystein Karlsen, and Niclas Salomonsson.
The series is produced by Working Title in collaboration with Universal International Studios.
Nesbø’s Harry Hole universe was previously adapted for the screen with 2017’s The Snowman, directed by Tomas Alfredson and starring Michael Fassbender.
