Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming series “Bodies,” a time-traveling murder mystery that follows four detectives as they investigate the same crime across four different eras.
The trailer begins with the line “You’re not the first detective to discover this body,” setting the stage for a story that spans over 150 years. The four detectives are Edmund Hillinghead (Jacob Fortune-Lloyd), a police inspector in 1890; Karl Whiteman (Kyle Soller), a detective in 1941; Sahara Hasan (Amaka Okafor), a police officer in 2023; and Maplewood (Shira Haas), a detective in 2053.
Despite the different time periods, the four detectives are all connected by the same mystery: the murder of a young woman whose body is found in London’s Whitechapel district. As they investigate, they begin to realize that their cases are not as separate as they seem. There is a larger conspiracy at play, one that has been going on for centuries.
The teaser trailer promises that “Bodies” will “blow your mind.” The series is based on the 2015 graphic novel of the same name by Si Spencer, and it is sure to be a must-watch for fans of time travel, murder mysteries, and suspenseful thrillers.
The eight-episode series premieres on Netflix on October 19, 2023.
