Sydney Sweeney, known for her stellar performances in “The White Lotus” and “Euphoria,” takes the lead in the upcoming psychological horror film “Immaculate,” which has been acquired for release by NEON, an acclaimed studio known for its award-winning works.

Reuniting with director Michael Mohan, who previously collaborated with Sweeney on “The Voyeurs,” the film features a script by Andrew Lobel. Principal photography concluded earlier this year, and NEON is gearing up for a theatrical release, although an official date is yet to be announced.

The ensemble cast of “Immaculate” includes Simona Tabasco (“The White Lotus”), Alvaro Morte (“Money Heist”), Benedetta Porcaroli (“Baby”), and Dora Romano (“The Hand of God”).

Sweeney portrays Cecilia in “Immaculate,” a devout woman offered a promising position at an esteemed Italian convent. However, her warm reception in the picturesque Italian countryside takes a chilling turn as Cecilia begins unraveling dark and horrifying secrets lurking within her new home.

Having recently appeared in horror films like “Night Teeth” and “Nocturne,” Sweeney’s upcoming ventures include the highly anticipated “Madame Web.”

Producing duties for “Immaculate” fall to Sweeney and Jonathan Davino for Fifty-Fifty Films, along with David Bernad, who previously collaborated with Sweeney on the Emmy-winning “The White Lotus.” Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler join as producers for Black Bear.

Executives from Black Bear, including John Friedberg and Christopher Casanova, alongside Will Greenfield (“Euphoria”), serve as executive producers for the film.

NEON and Black Bear also collaborate on Osgood Perkins’ “Longlegs,” featuring Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe. Meanwhile, NEON is behind the recently announced sequel, “They Follow,” from writer/director David Robert Mitchell.

As more details about “Immaculate” emerge, stay tuned for further updates on this gripping psychological horror film.
