A children’s TV set turns into pure nightmare fuel in the new trailer for Monkey’s Magic Merry-Go-Round—and it looks anything but family-friendly.
The film will begin streaming exclusively on Screambox on May 19, 2026.
In Monkey’s Magic Merry-Go-Round, a once-beloved kids’ show host is left scrambling after a sudden bout of amnesia fractures his memory. As he tries to piece together what happened, something far more disturbing begins to emerge: the cheerful puppet co-stars he once trusted now seem to have a life—and agenda—of their own. As the set warps into something far darker, the line between performance and reality completely collapses.
The newly released trailer teases a surreal descent into madness, with twisted puppets stalking the set and psychologically tormenting their host. Forget wholesome children’s programming—this is nightmare territory.
The film comes from writer/director Aidan Leary in his feature debut, co-written with C.R. Thompson. Michael Gilio—known for his work on Dark Harvest and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves—also stars.
Produced by Joe Swanberg (You’re Next, Offseason) alongside Yale Productions, the movie is part of the Terror Town genre slate.
Executive producer Nicholas Donnermeyer previously praised the project, calling it a bold and confident debut, adding that the film is “a trip” that demands to be experienced with an audience.
Monkey’s Magic Merry-Go-Round arrives later this month—and it looks ready to turn childhood nostalgia into something deeply unsettling.
