Looking for a new companion? Lionsgate and Blumhouse unveil Chauncey, a seemingly adorable teddy bear with an ominous side, in the upcoming horror flick “Imaginary.”

Drawing parallels to the anticipation around M3GAN, Blumhouse’s previous creation, the studios recently dropped a mock commercial for Chauncey, teasing his presence in the film. The faux promo video hints at a deeper, more chilling narrative.

DeWanda Wise, known for her role in “Jurassic World Dominion,” not only stars but also takes on a producing role in “Imaginary,” slated for a theatrical release on March 8, 2024. The horror movie centers on Jessica, who moves back to her childhood home with her family. Her youngest stepdaughter, Alice, forms an unsettling bond with a seemingly innocent stuffed bear, Chauncey, discovered in the basement. As Alice’s interactions with Chauncey grow increasingly ominous, Jessica realizes the bear holds more sinister secrets than she initially thought.

The film features a talented ensemble cast including Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Veronica Falcon, and Betty Buckley.

Under the production of Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and helmed by Jeff Wadlow, known for his work in projects like “Cry Wolf,” “Kick-Ass 2,” “Truth or Dare,” “Fantasy Island,” and “The Curse of Bridge Hollow,” “Imaginary” promises a gripping and eerie tale. The screenplay is crafted by Jeff Wadlow, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland.

Ryan Turek will serve as the Executive Producer for Wadlow’s “Imaginary,” heightening expectations for this spine-chilling narrative.
