‘Apex’ Trailer: Charlize Theron Hunted by Taron Egerton in Netflix Survival Thriller
Charlize Theron is pushed to her limits in the first trailer for Apex, a brutal survival thriller where the only rule is simple: hunt or be hunted.
Set to stream April 24 on Netflix, Apex has been described as Free Solo meets The Silence of the Lambs—blending extreme survival with psychological terror.
Theron stars as Sasha, a grieving adrenaline seeker who ventures deep into the remote Australian wilderness to test herself against nature. But what begins as a personal challenge quickly turns into a nightmare when she realizes she’s not alone—and something far more dangerous is tracking her every move.
That threat comes in the form of Taron Egerton, who plays a relentless and calculating killer hunting Sasha through the unforgiving terrain. Eric Bana co-stars, rounding out the film’s tense, character-driven lineup.
Directing is Baltasar Kormákur (Everest, 2 Guns), working from a script by Jeremy Robbins (The Purge). The film leans heavily into raw survival tension, pairing man-vs-nature with a deadly game of cat and mouse.
Behind the scenes, Theron also produces alongside Beth Kono and AJ Dix under their Secret Menu banner, with additional production support from Chernin Entertainment and RVK Studios.
Apex is rated R for strong violence, grisly imagery, nudity, and language—promising an intense and unforgiving ride.
The film premieres April 24 on Netflix.
