‘Murder on Lake Garda’ Series in Development at Hulu with Whodunit Twist
A new murder mystery is heading to streaming, as Hulu develops a series adaptation of Murder on Lake Garda, based on the bestselling novel by Tom Hindle.
Set against the serene backdrop of Italy’s Lake Garda, the story unfolds on a secluded private island hosting an ultra-exclusive wedding. Leopoldo Vigevani, heir to a powerful and wealthy family, is set to marry influencer Eva Bianchi in what’s meant to be the event of the year.
But the celebration takes a deadly turn when a body is discovered washed up on the beach. With no way off the island, guests quickly realize they’re trapped—and one of them is a killer.
The series will be filmed on location in Italy, with The Apartment (Bones and All, Challengers) attached to produce.
Originally published in 2024 by Century/Penguin, Murder on Lake Garda became a Sunday Times bestseller, earning comparisons to classic whodunits by Agatha Christie thanks to its locked-room mystery setup and cast of suspicious characters.
With its mix of luxury, deception, and murder, the adaptation is shaping up to be a sleek new entry in the modern whodunit revival.
