Robert De Niro Leads Netflix’s ‘The Whisper Man’ — First Poster Reveals a Dark Serial Killer Mystery
Netflix has released the first official poster for The Whisper Man, a chilling new serial killer thriller arriving later this summer.
Carrying the ominous tagline, “If you leave a door half open, soon you’ll hear the whispers spoken,” the film is based on The Whisper Man by Alex North and premieres on Netflix on August 28.
Leading the cast are Adam Scott, Michelle Monaghan, and Robert De Niro, with a trailer expected to debut soon.
The official synopsis reads:
When his eight-year-old son is abducted, a widowed crime writer turns to his estranged father, a retired police detective, for help. Their search uncovers disturbing ties to a decades-old case involving a convicted serial killer known as The Whisper Man.
The supporting cast features an impressive lineup that includes Michael Keaton, John Carroll Lynch, Hamish Linklater, Owen Teague, Will Brill, and Acston Luca Porto.
The film is directed by James Ashcroft (The Rule of Jenny Pen) from a screenplay by Ben Jacoby (The First Omen) and Chase Palmer (IT).
Producing the adaptation are Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco, and Kassee Whiting for AGBO.
The Whisper Man is rated R for “some bloody violence, disturbing images, suicide, language, and brief sexual references.”
