Adam Scott Auditioned for ‘Hellraiser: Hellseeker’ Despite His Brutal Death in ‘Hellraiser: Bloodline’
Announced just last month, Osgood Perkins and Nicolas Cage are officially teaming back up for a new film set in the world of Longlegs. While the project doesn’t yet have an official title, it’s already being dubbed Longlegs 2 for convenience.
The film is slated to hit theaters on January 14, 2028, with distribution from Paramount Pictures.
Cage is set to both star in and produce the upcoming movie, with Perkins returning to write and direct. Despite the “2” label, this won’t be a straightforward sequel. Instead, the new installment is described as taking place within the same universe, suggesting a different angle or story rather than a direct continuation.
Details on the plot are being kept tightly under wraps, but Perkins is confirmed to have penned the script and will also produce alongside Brian Kavanaugh Jones (Range Media), Chris Ferguson, and Dave Caplan of C2, the company that financed the original film.
For a refresher, Longlegs followed FBI Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), a promising recruit assigned to track down a mysterious serial killer played by Cage. As the investigation deepens, occult elements begin to surface, and Harker uncovers a disturbing personal connection to the case, racing against time to stop further bloodshed.
Released by NEON, the film was a major success, pulling in $127 million worldwide in 2024. Much of that success was credited to its cryptic marketing campaign, which notably kept Cage’s eerie transformation completely hidden until audiences saw it in theaters.
How Cage’s character might return remains a mystery, especially given the events of the original film—but with this new project existing within the same universe rather than serving as a direct sequel, anything is possible.
Stay tuned for more updates as details on Longlegs 2 continue to emerge.
