‘Exit 8’ Poster Promises Disturbing, Endless Horror

Published

on

The new poster for Exit 8 traps viewers in an endless loop of unsettling, liminal terror—and there’s no turning back.

The Japanese psychological horror thriller opens in theaters on April 10 via NEON.

Adapted from the popular video game by Kotake Create, Exit 8 follows a man navigating a sterile, seemingly infinite subway corridor in search of Exit 8. The rules are simple: notice nothing out of the ordinary, or turn back immediately; miss a single anomaly, and he’s forced to start over. One misstep could mean eternal repetition—will he ever escape the corridor?

Kawamura Genki (Your Name) directs from a script co-written with Kentaro Hirase. The cast includes Kazunari Ninomiya (Letters from Iwo Jima), Yamato Kôchi, Naru Asanuma, Kotone Hanase, and Nana Komatsu (Silence).

Production is handled by Kenji Yamada (Godzilla Minus One), Yuto Sakata, Akito Yamamoto, and Taichi Ito.

Exit 8 made its debut at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and went on to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sitges, Beyond Fest, Busan, Rotterdam, and will also play the Overlook Film Festival.

The film carries a PG-13 rating for “some bloody images and terror,” delivering psychological dread with video game precision.
