Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Wednesday Season 2, and the darkly charming teen sleuth is back—this time returning to the scene of the crime.

The new season of the gothic mystery series is split into two parts: Part 1 premieres August 6, followed by Part 2 on September 3, exclusively on Netflix.

Jenna Ortega reprises her role as Wednesday Addams, navigating a new school year filled with complicated relationships, eerie secrets, and twisted supernatural puzzles. Her signature deadpan humor and cutting wit are intact as she faces familiar foes and unsettling new threats at Nevermore Academy.

Joining Ortega are returning cast members Emma Myers, Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Joy Sunday, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah B. Taylor, and Hunter Doohan.

This season also welcomes a roster of guest stars, including Jamie McShane, Joanna Lumley, Joonas Suotamo, Fred Armisen, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Heather Matarazzo, Haley Joel Osment, Anthony Michael Hall, Frances O’Connor—and pop icon Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious Nevermore teacher who tangles with Wednesday in unexpected ways.

Series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) return as showrunners. Tim Burton, who helped define the show’s visual identity, is back to direct four of the eight episodes. The remaining episodes are split between Paco Cabezas (The Umbrella Academy) and Angela Robinson (Professor Marston & the Wonder Women).

“Family weaves quite heavily into this season,” Burton shared. “The Addams family mythology is so rich. Seeing them all return to Nevermore at this stage in their lives creates friction—and that tension is where the story really thrives. While the visuals are heightened, the emotional core is rooted in very real family dynamics.”

Get ready to return to Nevermore Academy—where secrets linger, danger brews, and Wednesday Addams is never far from trouble.
