Sam Raimi isn’t diving straight into supernatural horror this time—like he did with Drag Me to Hell back in 2009—but the trailer for Send Help makes it clear he’s back flexing his signature style. Expect a violent survival story laced with Raimi’s trademark dark humor, minus the ghosts and curses.
Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien lead the cast in Send Help, hitting theaters January 30, 2026. The ensemble also features Edyll Ismail (La Brea), Dennis Haysbert (Far from Heaven), Xavier Samuel (Elvis), Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), Thaneth Warakulnukroh (Thai Cave Rescue), and Emma Raimi (Happy Pills).
The film follows Linda Liddle (McAdams) and Bradley Preston (O’Brien), two coworkers stranded on a deserted island after surviving a plane crash. With only each other to rely on, they must overcome old grievances and play a tense, darkly comedic game of wits to survive.
“I’ve always loved stories where interesting, dynamic characters are pushed to extremes,” says Raimi. “In our story, the power shifts create an escalating situation brimming with unexpected turns and suspense.”
Send Help is produced by Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi (65), executive produced by JJ Hook (The Amateur), written by Damian Shannon & Mark Swift (Friday the 13th, Baywatch), and scored by Danny Elfman (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman).
With a blend of razor-sharp humor, tense survival drama, and Raimi’s unmistakable flair, Send Help promises to be one of the first must-watch thrillers of 2026.
