Jessica Lange Returns in First Look at ‘American Horror Story Season 13’
Ryan Murphy is summoning the past for American Horror Story Season 13—and it’s bringing some heavy hitters back with it.
Leading the charge is Jessica Lange, officially returning to the franchise that helped define modern TV horror. Murphy dropped the first look on Instagram, captioning it simply: “Season 13. Day One. The return of Jessica Lange.”
And yeah—she’s not coming alone.
Season 13 is shaping up to be a full-blown reunion of AHS icons, with a stacked cast that includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Ariana Grande, and John Waters.
Lange’s return is the big shocker here. The Oscar winner was the backbone of American Horror Story during its early run (2011–2015), delivering unforgettable performances and snagging two Emmys along the way. She last appeared briefly in Season 8, reprising Constance Langdon—but had recently downplayed any involvement in Season 13. Clearly, that was misdirection.
As for what this new season is actually about? Murphy’s keeping it locked down. No title, no theme—just vibes and a killer cast.
If tradition holds, expect American Horror Story Season 13 to arrive around Halloween 2026. Until then, the first images are here to tease what looks like a dark, nostalgia-fueled return to form.
