Liam Hemsworth Set to Lead Ridley Scott-Produced Horror Thriller ‘They Like The Dark’
Liam Hemsworth is stepping into horror territory with a new survival thriller titled They Like The Dark.
According to Deadline, Hemsworth will star as a half-blind bomb technician who wakes up chained inside a dark warehouse with no memory of how he got there.
With terrifying creatures hunting him through the darkness, the only things he can rely on are his instincts and his loyal service dog as he fights to survive.
The film is being directed by Mike Pecci from a screenplay written by Will Simmons. Production is reportedly targeting a late 2026 start.
Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, and Sam Roston are producing through Scott Free Productions alongside Joshua Harris, Nathan Klingher, and Ford Corbett for Gramercy Park.
The premise blends survival horror, action, and psychological tension, with the isolated warehouse setting suggesting a claustrophobic nightmare built around darkness and fear.
Fortitude will introduce the project to international buyers at the Cannes Film Market next week, while CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group are handling domestic rights.
Ridley Scott’s next film, the post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, is currently scheduled to hit theaters on August 28.
