Ryan Gosling’s ‘Ghost Rider’ Movie Sets Summer 2028 Theatrical Release

The Spirit of Vengeance is finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ryan Gosling (Project Hail Mary) is officially set to play Ghost Rider in Marvel Studios’ upcoming solo movie, and fans now have a release date to mark on their calendars.

Ghost Rider will roar into theaters on July 28, 2028.

The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will be directed by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine), with Jonathan Tropper (Star Wars: Starfighter) writing the screenplay.

While Marvel has yet to reveal major plot details, the most iconic version of the character is Johnny Blaze. The motorcycle stuntman famously sells his soul to the Devil and becomes Ghost Rider, a supernatural antihero capable of unleashing hellfire and delivering brutal justice.

Johnny Blaze was previously brought to the big screen by Nicolas Cage, who starred in 2007’s Ghost Rider and 2011’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

More recently, Gabriel Luna portrayed a different incarnation of the character, Robbie Reyes, on the television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Luna was also once set to headline a Ghost Rider spinoff series for Hulu following his appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but those plans were ultimately scrapped before the series went into production.

Fans have been waiting for Ghost Rider to officially enter the MCU for years, and Gosling has previously expressed his interest in taking on the supernatural Marvel character.

Now, that long-running fan dream is becoming a reality.

With Gosling attached, Levy directing, and a July 28, 2028 theatrical release date locked in, Marvel’s Ghost Rider is finally starting to take shape.
