NEON’s enigmatic horror movie marketing campaign for the upcoming year has captivated the horror community. Last week, the distributor initiated the buzz with a spine-chilling 35-second teaser that immediately ignited speculation. The teaser commenced with a vintage family photo depicting a mother, father, and daughter, accompanied by a disturbing 911 call in which the father insists that something has happened to his daughter, claiming, “That’s not my daughter.” The unsettling clip concluded with what appeared to be a crime scene photo, embellished with mysterious symbols that enthusiasts promptly began decoding.

While many horror aficionados believe the teaser is a glimpse into NEON’s anticipated horror film, “Longlegs,” there has been no official confirmation from NEON. Others are convinced it might be related to another horror movie on the company’s 2024 slate, “Cuckoo.”

Our speculation leans towards “Longlegs,” directed by Osgood Perkins (known for “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” and “Gretel & Hansel”). The film stars Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, with Monroe portraying an FBI agent and Cage embodying a serial killer.

In “Longlegs,” FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) delves into the unsolved case of a elusive serial killer (Cage). As the investigation unfolds, revealing hints of the occult, Harker discovers a personal link to the ruthless killer, prompting a race against time to prevent further tragedy.

The recently released 37-second teaser continues the cryptic theme, featuring an FBI agent uncovering something concealed beneath the floorboards of a house. This aligns with the narrative of “Longlegs,” where Maika Monroe plays an FBI agent. The teaser includes rapid shots of crime scene photos, displaying a bloody knife and lifeless bodies. A haunting voice accompanies the visuals, questioning, “Are you still saying your prayers? Our prayers protect us from the Devil.”
