‘Hedges’ Teaser Brings Found-Footage Frights From ‘Dolly’ Creator
Alongside his feature adaptation of Alone Time, Dolly director Rod Blackhurst is also preparing to unleash a new found-footage horror film titled Hedges.
The filmmaker recently revealed the first teaser and poster for the project on social media.
In Hedges, “A man secretly records his wife as she loses her grip on reality. But the cameras reveal much more than he expected.”
Blackhurst also shared additional details on Facebook, pointing to influences like The Poughkeepsie Tapes and Noroi as inspiration for the film’s grounded, unsettling tone. He described his approach to found footage as something that should feel “possible,” with a believable reason for the footage existing and being presented in its final form.
To heighten that sense of realism, Blackhurst revealed that he had actors live inside a house for two weeks, with everything they did captured on camera.
Russ Tiller and Quinnlan Ashe star in the film.
A release date has yet to be announced, but Hedges is expected to arrive soon.
