After two decades in development, “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” is finally making its way to theaters, bringing Bram Stoker’s chilling tale to life. Adapted from a single chapter, the Captain’s Log, of Stoker’s iconic 1897 novel “Dracula,” this highly anticipated film promises a spine-tingling experience. And the best part? You don’t have to wait much longer to catch a glimpse of the dread-filled action. Check out the new clip above, showcasing the ominous Dracula, portrayed by Javier Botet (known for “Mama”), as he launches a brutal attack on the ship’s crew.

Breaking free from the clutches of development limbo, the movie boasts a screenplay by Bragi F. Schut, Stefan Ruzowitzky, and Zak Olkewicz. “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” narrates the harrowing voyage of the merchant ship Demeter, chartered to transport a mysterious cargo – fifty unmarked wooden crates – from Carpathia to London. Amid the vast expanse of the ocean, the ill-fated crew confronts a series of inexplicable and eerie occurrences, relentlessly pursued by an unforgiving presence that haunts their every move. The Demeter’s eventual arrival off the English shores unveils a grim tableau – a scorched, abandoned vessel, devoid of any trace of its crew.

Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton”) takes on the role of Clemens, a doctor embarking on the Demeter’s journey, while Aisling Franciosi (“The Nightingale”) portrays an unwitting stowaway. Liam Cunningham (“Game of Thrones”) assumes the mantle of the ship’s captain, and David Dastmalchian (known for the Ant-Man franchise) fills the shoes of the Demeter’s first mate. The cast also features Jon Jon Briones (“American Horror Story”), Stefan Kapicic (of the Deadpool films), Nikolai Nikolaeff (“Stranger Things”), and the aforementioned Javier Botet.

Guided by the adept hand of director André Øvredal (“Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”), “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” sails under the DreamWorks Pictures banner. The film’s production was overseen by Brad Fischer, Mike Medavoy, and Arnold Messer for Phoenix Pictures, with Matthew Hirsch serving as executive producer.
