The Friday the 13th universe is heading to New York Comic Con.

Peacock’s upcoming prequel series “Crystal Lake” premieres on October 15, but fans in New York will get an early look at the first episode during New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 8.

Peacock and A24 will host an exclusive screening of the premiere episode at 6:30 p.m. on the Empire Stage, followed by a panel featuring series creator Brad Caleb Kane and stars Linda Cardellini, William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, and Callum Vinson.

New York Comic Con takes over the Javits Center from October 8-11, 2026.

“Crystal Lake” serves as a prequel to the original Friday the 13th, exploring the story of Pamela Voorhees long before her son Jason became one of horror’s most iconic killers.

Before Jason, there was Pamela.

Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, while Vinson (Chucky) plays a young Jason Voorhees.

The series follows Pam, a single mother still struggling with the devastating death of her young, sickly son Jason, who drowned in Crystal Lake nearly a year earlier.

Her grief takes a darker turn when two strangers arrive at her home and begin digging into her past. Their questions set off a disturbing chain of events that forces the residents of Crystal Lake to confront a terrifying question:

Just who is Pam Voorhees?

All eight episodes of “Crystal Lake” premiere on Peacock October 15.

For Friday the 13th fans, New York Comic Con offers the first chance to see where this new chapter in the franchise begins.
