What if the road ahead never ended?

NEON is taking audiences on a bizarre and unsettling journey with It Ends, a new horror film that turns a late-night road trip into an endless nightmare.

The official trailer has arrived, offering a first look at the feature debut from writer-director Alexander Ullom.

It Ends arrives in theaters on August 21, 2026.

The film follows four recent college graduates who find themselves trapped on a road that seems to stretch endlessly into the distance. No matter how far they drive, there is no apparent destination—and no way to turn back.

Along the way, the group is occasionally attacked by dangerous stragglers. Eventually, they are forced to develop routines for sleeping, eating, and making stops as the endless journey begins to blur together.

After thousands of miles, everything starts to feel the same.

Still, they keep driving.

Because they believe something better might eventually be waiting at the end of the road.

Akira Jackson, Phinehas Yoon, Mitchell Cole, and Noah Toth star in the film.

Ullom has described It Ends as a movie focused less on the horror itself and more on how people live with it.

The filmmaker previously explained that he was interested in the idea of characters experiencing something completely terrifying, then simply having to continue living afterward. The film reportedly keeps recontextualizing the events taking place, suggesting that the road trip may become increasingly difficult to understand as the story unfolds.

That combination of existential dread and surreal horror could make It Ends one of the more unusual genre releases arriving this summer.

And Alexander Ullom may already be a filmmaker worth watching. The newcomer has also been tapped to direct 4 X 4: The Event, described as a collision between Battle Royale, Saw, and Climax.
