Gen Z Meets ’90s Horror in the ‘You’re Dead to Me’ Trailer

Prom night turns into a blood-soaked nightmare in the new trailer for You’re Dead to Me, a Gen Z slasher that pays tribute to the golden age of ’90s teen horror.

Dark Star Pictures will release You’re Dead to Me on Digital and On Demand July 7, 2026.

The film follows three high school seniors who ditch prom for what’s supposed to be a carefree, secluded weekend party—far from parents, school, and responsibility. But the fantasy quickly collapses when the group discovers that one of their classmates has been brutally murdered. What starts as an escape from teenage pressure spirals into a night of paranoia, suspicion, and survival as they realize the killer may already be among them.

Starring Denise Richards (Valentine, Starship Troopers), the cast also includes Siena Agudong (Sidelined: The QB and Me, Sidelined 2: Intercepted), Jessica Belkin (Baywatch), Ella Anderson (Henry Danger, Song Sung Blue), and Conor Husting (Boo, Bitch, Hollywood Stargirl).

Directed by Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz, the film leans into classic slasher structure with a modern Gen Z edge, blending nostalgia with contemporary teenage anxieties.

You’re Dead to Me was co-written by Sarah Howard and Terry Castle, daughter of legendary filmmaker William Castle (House on Haunted Hill, The Tingler), tying the film’s modern horror sensibilities back to classic genre roots.
