While fans eagerly await the next Paranormal Activity film from director Ian Tuason (Undertone), the found footage horror franchise is taking an exciting turn—heading to Broadway.

Paranormal Activity: A New Story Live on Stage is set to make its Broadway debut following sold-out runs in London’s West End, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and San Francisco. Deadline reports that the limited 20-week engagement will begin performances on Friday, August 14, at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre, with an official opening scheduled for Tuesday, September 15.

Before hitting Broadway, the show will have a pre-Broadway engagement at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre from July 11 to July 30.

Directed by Felix Barrett and written by playwright Levi Holloway, the stage production follows James and Lou, a couple who moves from Chicago to London to escape their troubled past. When they discover a disturbing presence in their new home, they use a camera to document the terrifying events that unfold.

Paranormal Activity reimagines the modern ghost story with the intimacy that only live theatre can provide,” say the production team.

Original Paranormal Activity stars Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat attended the play last year, sharing their thoughts on Instagram. Featherston called it “a truly fun night,” praising the production’s design, scares, and cast. Sloat described it as “an incredible” combination of horror, stage magic, and storytelling that “builds something new and terrifying.”

Paranormal Activity changed the horror landscape,” said Josh Silverman from Paramount. “Bringing the franchise to Broadway allows us to continue expanding that world in a bold and immersive way. Combining the franchise’s signature suspense with the power of live theater, this production delivers an unforgettable experience for the audience.”
