Lil Rel Howery & Angela Sarafyan to Lead Psychological Horror The Things We Hide
The Things We Hide, a gripping psychological horror thriller starring Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), and Manny Montana (Ironheart), has officially begun production in New York. Directed by Amir Noorani and Eric Bergemann, both making their feature directorial debut, the film is based on a script by Bergemann.
The story follows Naomi (Sarafyan) and Logan (Howery), a couple trying to rebuild their fractured marriage after a psychological breakdown. They retreat to a remote farmhouse seeking a fresh start, only to be confronted by terrifying events that blur the line between trauma, paranoia, and the supernatural.
Produced by Atit Shah of Create Entertainment, along with Noorani and Bergemann, The Things We Hide will be introduced to global buyers at this week’s Cannes Film Market by Minerva Pictures.
“The Things We Hide is designed to feel layered, intimate, and psychologically ambiguous,” said Noorani and Bergemann. “Every visual choice is intentional, constantly inviting audiences to question what’s real, what’s perceived, and what may be influencing the characters. With Lil Rel, Angela, and Manny bringing such emotional complexity to the material, we’re excited to bring this vision to life with Atit Shah, the Create Entertainment team, and Minerva Pictures.”
Shah added, “Our cast brings extraordinary depth to roles that demand exactly that. Eric’s script taps into something primal about trust, trauma, and what we’re willing to unsee when we love someone. Partnering with Minerva to bring this film to the global market is an exciting step, and we couldn’t have asked for a better home heading into Cannes.”
Minerva Pictures’ Monica Ciarli calls the film “a psychological thriller with all the ingredients to captivate international audiences: a gripping concept, a distinctive directorial vision, and an exceptional cast and creative team behind it.”
