Steven Spielberg is ready to blow the lid off decades of extraterrestrial secrecy in the first trailer for Disclosure Day, a new sci-fi spectacle that promises a global reckoning with alien life.

The upcoming blockbuster will land in theaters and IMAX on June 12, with Universal Pictures launching what looks to be one of the biggest sci-fi events of the summer.

The film’s cryptic synopsis hints at a world-shaking revelation:

“If you found out we weren’t alone—if someone showed you, proved it to you—would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to Disclosure Day.”

The screenplay was written by David Koepp, whose long list of credits includes Jurassic Park and Spider-Man. The script is based on a story developed by Spielberg himself.

The cast is stacked with major talent, including Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Josh O’Connor (Wake Up Dead Man), Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Eve Hewson (Bridge of Spies), Colman Domingo (The Running Man), and Wyatt Russell (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters).

Behind the scenes, Spielberg has assembled several of his most trusted collaborators. The film features cinematography by Janusz Kaminski (Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List), production design by Adam Stockhausen (Ready Player One, West Side Story), editing by Michael Kahn (Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark) and Sarah Broshar (The Fabelmans), and a score by legendary composer John Williams (Jaws, Jurassic Park).

Spielberg is producing through Amblin Entertainment alongside Kristie Macosko Krieger, with Adam Somner and Chris Brigham serving as executive producers.
