‘The Mortuary Assistant’ Horror Game Gets New Poster Featuring Deadly Terror

The chilling world of the hit horror game The Mortuary Assistant is coming to theaters this February 13 via Epic Pictures, before streaming on Shudder starting March 27.

The story follows newly certified mortician Rebecca Owens, who takes a night shift at a mortuary, embalming bodies alone after hours. As disturbing events spiral out of control, Rebecca uncovers demonic rituals, her enigmatic mentor’s dark secrets, and her own buried trauma—racing against time to survive the night before she becomes a vessel for possession.

Willa Holland (Arrow) and Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire) lead the cast alongside John Adams (Hellbender), Keena Ferguson, and Mark Steger (Stranger Things) as The Mimic.

Directed by Jeremiah Kipp (Slapface) from a script co-written by game creator Brian Clarke and Tracee Beebe, the film expands on the original 2022 PC release, exploring deeper lore and the demonic entities haunting River Fields. The game quickly went viral and has since released on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Production is handled by Epic Pictures’ Patrick Ewald via Dread, alongside Cole Payne’s Traverse Media and Jacob P. Heineke. Executive producers include Clarke, Katie Page, Yulissa Morales, Randy Sinquefield, Patrick Fischer, and Oliver Garboe.
