‘Twin Peaks’ Star Patrick Fischler Joins Apple TV’s ‘Cape Fear’ Reimagining

Apple TV+’s upcoming Cape Fear series just got even more intriguing — Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive actor Patrick Fischler has joined the cast in a mysterious recurring role, Deadline reports.

The 10-episode psychological thriller is executive produced by Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, with production now underway. The series stars Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Amy Adams (Arrival), and Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring).

In this reimagining of Cape Fear, married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson) find their perfect life shattered when Max Cady (Bardem) — a violent criminal from their past — is released from prison, unleashing a wave of dread and obsession.

The show draws inspiration from both John D. MacDonald’s 1957 novel The Executioners and the two iconic film adaptations — the 1962 original starring Gregory Peck and Scorsese’s 1991 remake with Robert De Niro.

Created by Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, Brand New Cherry Flavor), the series promises a stylish and unsettling descent into fear and revenge. Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game, Passengers) directs the pilot episode.

The cast also features CCH Pounder (The Shield), Malia Pyles (Pretty Little Liars), Anna Baryshnikov (Love Lies Bleeding), Jamie Hector (The Wire), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Ted Levine (The Silence of the Lambs), and Margarita Levieva (Daredevil: Born Again).

Produced by UCP and Amblin Television, Cape Fear is shaping up to be a brutal and elegant psychological nightmare worthy of its legendary lineage.
