Production of the highly anticipated second season of AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” TV series has come to a halt due to the ongoing Screen Actors Guild (SAG) strike. The show, which has been primarily filming in Prague since April, with additional locations including Paris and New Orleans, will remain on hold until the strike is resolved.

Based on Anne Rice’s novel of the same name, “Interview with the Vampire” revolves around the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he recounts his life story to a reporter, particularly his transformation into a vampire and his relationship with mentor Lestat de Lioncourt.

The AMC adaptation stars Sam Reid as Lestat, Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Assad Zaman as Rashid (Louis’ present-day companion), Kalyne Coleman as Louis’ sister Grace, Christian Robinson as Levi (a Baptist who captures Grace’s heart), and Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy (an investigative journalist given a second chance at a career-defining interview). Joining the cast for the second season is Ben Daniels as the vampire Santiago.

Executive produced by Alan Taylor, director of “The Sopranos” prequel film “The Many Saints of Newark,” the series is helmed by showrunner Rolin Jones, co-creator of HBO’s “Perry Mason,” with Mark Johnson overseeing the development of AMC’s Vampire Chronicles franchise. Christopher Rice, son of Anne Rice, serves as an executive producer, and Anne Rice herself will receive executive producer credit.

The second season of “Interview with the Vampire” is set to consist of eight episodes. However, no premiere date has been announced, as AMC will need to assess the situation once the strike concludes to determine when the show will be ready for airing. Fans will have to patiently await further updates as the resolution of the actors’ strike remains uncertain.
