AMC has confirmed that Melissa McBride will reprise her role as Carol Peletier in the upcoming season of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,’ which has been officially retitled ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.’

Expressing her excitement about this return, McBride commented, “I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story, as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, watching her best friend, Daryl, ride away. Whether they are apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories are profound, and I’m thrilled to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers has done an incredible job transporting these two well-established characters into an entirely new world for them, and I’m relishing the discoveries!”

Originally slated to co-star alongside Norman Reedus in ‘The Walking Dead’ spinoff, logistical challenges led to McBride’s departure. Subsequently, the series was reimagined to focus exclusively on Reedus’ character, with a plan always in place to reintegrate McBride at a later point. The second season is currently in production in France and is set to premiere in 2024.

Fans of the original series will undoubtedly be delighted to see the reunion of the beloved pairing of Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus, who shared the screen throughout all eleven seasons of ‘The Walking Dead.’

In ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2,’ Norman Reedus portrays Daryl Dixon, who mysteriously washes ashore in France, grappling with piecing together the events leading up to his arrival and the reason for his presence in this foreign land. His journey unfolds across a fractured yet resilient France as he seeks a way back home, and the connections he forges along the way complicate his initial plans. The series also features an ensemble cast including Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Romain Levi, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, and Laika Blanc Francard.

The season finale of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ is scheduled to air on October 15th.
