In an exclusive report, it has been revealed that William Fichtner will star alongside climbing legends Alex Honnold, Brette Harrington, and Adrian Ballinger in the indie horror film ‘The Sound.’ The movie is set in the world of big-wall rock climbing.

Though specific details about the climbers’ roles have not been disclosed, Fichtner will portray Conner, a father facing the fear of losing his son in a way similar to how he lost his own father at a young age. The film is being produced by Devane and his Sadieland Productions, with the involvement of Sports Emmy-winning producer Mike Negri and second-unit DP Brett Lowell to coordinate stunt sequences. Grammy-winning rock musician James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins will compose the score.

Alex Honnold, renowned for his awe-inspiring free solo ascent of El Capitan in the National Geographic documentary ‘Free Solo,’ gained widespread fame. Brette Harrington, known for daring free solo climbs and big wall ascents, was previously featured in the documentary ‘The Alpinist.’ Adrian Ballinger, a British-American mountaineer with multiple Mount Everest summits to his name, appeared in an episode of HBO’s ‘Edge of the Earth.’

Devane expressed his honor in working with such monumental figures in the climbing community, emphasizing the film’s authenticity and the team’s collective experience in pushing the limits of human achievement in climbing. The movie blends real-life climbing prowess with a talented cast, stunt performers, and supernatural elements, promising a captivating and unique experience for the audience.

Fichtner, known for his roles in blockbuster films like ‘Armageddon,’ ‘Crash,’ ‘Black Hawk Down,’ and ‘The Dark Knight,’ as well as TV series like ‘Prison Break,’ recently starred in ABC’s ‘The Company You Keep.’ He can also be seen in Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Hypnotic’ alongside Ben Affleck and the upcoming comedy ‘French Girl’ with Zach Braff and Vanessa Hudgens.

With the film aiming to be a groundbreaking addition to the horror genre, ‘The Sound’ combines the dedication of the cast and crew, the breathtaking natural backdrop, and a chilling story to create an unforgettable cinematic experience.

William Fichtner is represented by Innovative Artists, Principal Entertainment LA, Thruline Entertainment, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
