Prepare for another chilling chapter in The Conjuring Universe as “The Nun II” sets to haunt audiences this Halloween. The official teaser trailer has been released, offering a glimpse into the dark and financially successful world of the demonic nun.

Directed by Michael Chaves (known for “Curse of La Llorona” and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It”), “The Nun II” welcomes back Valak, portrayed by Bonnie Aarons, and reintroduces Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene. The cast is joined by Anna Popplewell and Katelyn Rose Downey, with Storm Reid leading the ensemble.

Set to hit theaters on September 8, 2023, “The Nun II” takes us to 1956 France, where a priest is brutally murdered, unleashing an evil presence. The sequel follows Sister Irene as she confronts the demonic force once again, embarking on a terrifying battle with Valak, the Demon Nun.

In the first film, Sister Irene and Maurice managed to escape, but Maurice is now possessed by Valak. The sequel finds Maurice working at a boarding school in France, where Irene is pulled back into the clutches of her old friend, setting the stage for a collision course between good and evil.

“The Nun” (2018) amassed an impressive $365 million at the global box office, guaranteeing that Valak’s malevolent presence would continue to haunt audiences.

The screenplay for “The Nun II” is penned by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and Akela Cooper, with Cooper also contributing to the story. Corin Hardy’s “The Nun” introduced the world to the malevolent force of the demonic nun as a priest and a novice investigated the death of a nun in Romania, confronting a powerful evil.

As anticipation builds for “The Nun II,” fans of The Conjuring Universe can expect another terrifying installment that will send shivers down their spines this Halloween.
