Get ready to dive back into one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time as “The Exorcist: Believer” prepares to terrify audiences this Halloween. A chilling new poster for the film has been unveiled by Universal Pictures UK, setting the stage for the spine-tingling sequel.

David Gordon Green, known for his work on “Halloween” (2018), helms this brand-new installment in “The Exorcist” series. Produced by Universal, Blumhouse, and Morgan Creek, this film marks the beginning of a new trilogy. Horror enthusiasts can mark their calendars for the theatrical release of the first film in the trilogy, scheduled for October 13, 2023, with Leslie Odom Jr. taking on a starring role.

The newly released UK poster sets the eerie tone for what’s to come.

The storyline of “The Exorcist: Believer” follows Victor Fielding (Leslie Odom, Jr.), who has been raising his daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett), on his own since the tragic death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago. However, when Angela and her friend Katherine (Olivia Marcum) mysteriously disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of their ordeal, it sets off a harrowing chain of events. Victor is forced to confront unimaginable evil and, in his desperation, seeks out the only person who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn).

The film also stars Ann Dowd (“Hereditary”), Raphael Sbarge (“Gaslit”), and Jennifer Nettles (“The Righteous Gemstones”).

The screenplay for “Believer” was penned by Peter Sattler (“Broken Diamonds”) and David Gordon Green, with a story contributed by Scott Teems (“Halloween Kills”) and Danny McBride (“Halloween”).

This upcoming sequel marks a triumphant return to the big screen for “The Exorcist” franchise, which has been dormant since the release of “Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist” in 2005. This film serves as a fresh and terrifying installment in the celebrated series, continuing its legacy of horror excellence.
