Prepare to meet Chauncey, but don’t expect him to be your typical friendly companion. In the latest trailer for Lionsgate’s horror flick “Imaginary,” Chauncey takes center stage, showcasing his eerie and unsettling nature.

DeWanda Wise (“Jurassic World Dominion”) leads the cast and also serves as a producer for “Imaginary,” slated for theatrical release on March 8, 2024. The new trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the sinister world of Chauncey. Watch it below.

In “Imaginary,” Jessica relocates to her childhood home with her family, only to discover that her youngest stepdaughter, Alice, forms a peculiar attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey found in the basement. What starts as innocent play soon takes a dark turn as Alice’s interactions with Chauncey become increasingly ominous. As Jessica grows concerned about Alice’s behavior, she realizes that Chauncey may be much more than just a toy bear.

Produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and directed by Jeff Wadlow (“Cry Wolf,” “Kick-Ass 2,” “Truth or Dare,” “Fantasy Island,” “The Curse of Bridge Hollow”), “Imaginary” promises to deliver spine-chilling thrills.

The film features a stellar cast including Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Veronica Falcon, and Betty Buckley. The screenplay is penned by Jeff Wadlow, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland.

Commenting on the trailer release, Jeff Wadlow remarked, “Not all imaginary friends are friendly… at least that’s what the characters at the heart of ‘Imaginary’ are about to find out.” He further added, “I love making films that play with the audience’s perception of what is real and what is not, so a horror movie that explores the frightening possibilities of imaginary friends was the perfect sandbox for me to play in.”

With unexpected twists, intense scares, and thrilling fun, Wadlow promises an unforgettable cinematic experience. Audiences can expect a riveting showdown between the characters and the malevolent Chauncey.

“I promise, you’ll never look at a Teddy the same way again,” Wadlow concluded.

“Imaginary” is executive produced by Ryan Turek.
