Lionsgate and Blumhouse have recently given us a glimpse of their upcoming horror film, “Imaginary,” by attaching its trailer to the movie “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” However, so far, the trailer has exclusively graced the screens of movie theaters.

This week, Deadline has offered more insights into the movie, revealing that DeWanda Wise, known for her role in “Jurassic World Dominion,” will not only star in the horror film but also take on a producer’s role.

Furthermore, there’s an exciting update regarding the release date: “Imaginary” is now set to hit theaters on March 8, 2024.

Keep an eye out for the online release of the “Imaginary” trailer, which is expected to drop soon. The movie’s storyline revolves around Jessica, who relocates with her family to her childhood home. Here, her youngest stepdaughter, Alice, forms an eerie bond with a stuffed bear named Chauncey, discovered in the basement. As Alice’s interactions with Chauncey progress from innocent play to something more sinister, Jessica becomes increasingly concerned. It becomes evident that Chauncey is not merely an ordinary stuffed toy bear.

The production of “Imaginary” is in the capable hands of Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, with Jeff Wadlow (known for works like “Cry Wolf,” “Kick-Ass 2,” “Truth or Dare,” “Fantasy Island,” and “The Curse of Bridge Hollow”) serving as a producer and director.

The screenplay for the film is a collaborative effort by Jeff Wadlow, Greg Erb, Jason Oremland, and Bryce McGuire.

Additionally, Ryan Turek is set to assume the role of Executive Producer for Wadlow’s “Imaginary.”
