The filmmaking trio Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, Chad Villella) is set to make a mark in the horror genre once again with their upcoming vampire horror film, “Abigail,” scheduled for release in April. The recently unveiled trailer suggests a promising future for the group post-“Scream.” In a significant move, Radio Silence, along with Project X Entertainment, has entered into a partnership with studio MRC, as reported by Variety.

The collaboration, announced on Wednesday morning, aims to produce two to three horror and thriller features annually, with an initial slate of projects expected to be revealed soon. The focus on horror and thriller genres aligns with Radio Silence’s expertise, showcased in their notable works such as “V/H/S,” “Southbound,” “Ready or Not,” and the “Scream” franchise.

Variety’s report emphasizes that the partnership strengthens the existing relationship between Project X and Radio Silence, particularly due to their collaboration on the successful “Scream” franchise.

Expressing their excitement, Radio Silence stated, “To be able to formalize our alliance with Project X and work with a studio in MRC that champions original and fresh films couldn’t be more exciting to us as storytellers.” They look forward to creating original content for a global horror and thriller audience, aiming to establish new franchises for genre enthusiasts.

Project X Entertainment co-founders James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the creative potential of the collaboration and their shared journey in filmmaking.

MRC’s Brye Adler and Jonathan Golfman expressed their enthusiasm about joining forces with like-minded and entrepreneurial partners, stating, “It is rare to find partners so like-minded and entrepreneurial, and we are excited to make a bunch of movies together!”

Despite their involvement in various projects, Radio Silence clarified that they will not be returning to direct “Scream 7.” The movie is currently without a director following Christopher Landon’s departure from the project.
