Shudder, Studio71, Cinepocalypse, and Bloody Disgusting are set to take viewers on a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s with “V/H/S/85,” a film that will make its World Premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, running from September 21 to 28. Fans can mark their calendars because “V/H/S/85” is scheduled to start streaming exclusively on Shudder on October 6, 2023. And today, we’re unveiling the official final trailer that looks like it was pulled straight out of the 1980s.

Check out the “V/H/S/85” trailer above, offering a glimpse into five horror stories from the minds behind acclaimed films like “The Black Phone,” “Hellraiser,” and “Scream.” The trailer made its debut on IGN.

In “V/H/S/85,” the chilling tales come to life through a made-for-TV documentary format. These tales include scientists observing an unusual boy fixated on his TV, kids embarking on a lake skiing adventure, a TV crew’s struggle for survival during a natural disaster, the early days of VR leading to something terrifying, and a deadly dream captured on tape. The sinister secrets of the 1980s are resurrected in a way that promises to be unlike anything you’ve seen before.

“V/H/S/85” joins the growing franchise that includes several films like “V/H/S,” “V/H/S/2,” “V/H/S: Viral,” “V/H/S/94,” “V/H/S/99,” and the spinoff feature “SiREN.”

Here’s a glimpse of the talented directors involved in “V/H/S/85”:

  1. David Bruckner: Known for “The Signal” and “The Ritual,” David Bruckner directed the “Amateur Night” segment in the first “V/H/S” film.
  2. Scott Derrickson: Famous for “Sinister” and “Doctor Strange,” Derrickson recently helmed “The Black Phone” and previously directed “Hellraiser: Inferno” in the horror genre.
  3. Gigi Saul Guerrero: The director behind “El Gigante,” Guerrero has worked on “Bingo Hell,” “Culture Shock,” and episodes of “The Purge” series.
  4. Natasha Kermani: Emerging talent recognized for “Imitation Girl” and “Lucky,” Kermani’s segment promises to captivate audiences.
  5. Mike P. Nelson: Known for “The Domestics” and the “Wrong Turn” remake, Nelson is set to deliver a thrilling contribution to the “V/H/S” universe.

The cast of “V/H/S/85” includes Freddy Rodriguez, Jordan Belfi, James Ransone, Dani Deetté, Rolando Davila-Beltran, Justen Jones, Marcio Moreno, Ari Gallegos, Forrest Hartl, Duffy McManus, Eric Pierson, Felipe de Lara, Tom Reed, and Vivian Morse.

The film’s producers include Josh Goldbloom for Cinepocalypse, Brad Miska for Bloody Disgusting, David Bruckner, the filmmaking collective Radio Silence (Chad Villella, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, & Tyler Gillett), and James Harris. “V/H/S/85” is executive produced by Michael Schreiber and Adam Boorstin for Studio71.
