“It Lives Inside” has been officially rated PG-13 for a blend of chilling elements, including “Terror, violent content, bloody images, brief strong language, and teen drug use.”

The film stars Megan Suri (“Never Have I Ever,” “Missing”), Neeru Bajwa (“Jatt & Juliet 1 & 2”), Mohana Krishnan, Vik Sahay (“Captain Marvel,” “Chuck”), and Betty Gabriel (“Get Out”).

The story of “It Lives Inside” delves into the struggles of Sam, a young woman who is desperate to fit in at school. To do so, she rejects her Indian culture and family in an attempt to assimilate. However, when a mythological demonic spirit attaches itself to her former best friend, Sam must come to terms with her heritage in a battle to defeat the malevolent entity.

The inspiration for the film is deeply rooted in Bishal Dutta’s own childhood experiences, having been born in India before relocating to the United States for upbringing. The narrative draws extensively from Indian demonic legends and a profoundly personal family story handed down from Dutta’s grandfather. Dutta penned the original screenplay, based on a story co-crafted with Ashish Mehta.

The film was produced by Raymond Mansfield and Sean McKittrick of QC Entertainment, with executive producers including NEON, Edward H. Hamm Jr, Jameson Parker, Arielle Voisvert, and Shawn Williamson.

Prepare to be immersed in a world of terror and self-discovery when “It Lives Inside” creeps into theaters this September.
