The official trailer for Heart of the Beast has arrived, giving audiences their first look at director David Ayer’s latest survival thriller, heading to theaters on September 25 via Paramount Pictures.

From Ayer (Fury, Suicide Squad), the film stars Brad Pitt as Special Forces officer James Belmont, who is forced into a fight for survival after a devastating plane crash leaves him stranded deep in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness alongside his combat dog, Odin.

Separated from civilization and surrounded by brutal natural conditions, Belmont and Odin must rely on each other to endure the extreme environment. The film centers on their struggle against the elements, evolving into a raw survival story built around endurance, instinct, and loyalty.

According to the official synopsis, Heart of the Beast is “an intense adventure thriller that explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet.”

The cast also includes J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) and Anna Lambe (True Detective: Night Country).

The screenplay is written by Cameron Alexander, with Academy Award-winning cinematographer Mauro Fiore (Avatar, Spider-Man: No Way Home) handling visuals.

Ayer has also reassured audiences about Odin’s fate, joking: “Don’t worry, the dog lives.”
