Podcast Horror Turns Witchy in ‘Fiona’ Starring Maggie Grace

The cult horror podcast Knifepoint Horror is officially heading to the big screen, with a feature adaptation titled Fiona now in development — and Deadline reports that Maggie Grace (Fear the Walking Dead) has signed on to star.

She will be joined by Steve Howey (Off Campus), rounding out the lead cast for the upcoming supernatural horror film from Capstone Studios (Obsession, Don’t Move).

Fiona follows a lonely, divorced doctor who becomes entangled with a mysterious woman living in rural America. What begins as an unexpected romance quickly spirals into something far more disturbing, as she is revealed to be channeling the raw forces of nature toward a catastrophic endgame.

As the situation escalates, the doctor is forced into an impossible choice: save the woman he loves, or stop the destruction she is bringing upon the world.

The film is directed by Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, At the Devil’s Door, The Prodigy) and is based on an original story by Knifepoint Horror creator Soren Narnia. The screenplay comes from Justin Yoffe and Evan Hart.

Producer Kearie Peak described the project as tapping into a shared emotional unease:

“There’s something in Fiona that speaks to a collective exhaustion with each other, with the state of the world… The film channels that anxiety into horror that feels primal, emotional, and strangely cathartic.”

Director McCarthy also emphasized his long-time ambition to tackle witchcraft on screen, stating that Fiona was the ideal project to finally explore the genre through his horror lens.

Fiona is set for a theatrical release window, followed by a streaming premiere on MGM+.
