‘Ice Cream Man’ Teaser: Eli Roth Unleashes Pint-Sized Killers
Eli Roth—the mastermind behind Hostel and Thanksgiving—is back with something disturbingly sweet. The first teaser for his new horror film Ice Cream Man has dropped via Entertainment Weekly, and it’s already turning childhood nostalgia into something far more sinister.
The unrated feature is set to hit theaters on August 7, released through The Horror Section and Iconic Releasing.
Co-written by Roth and longtime collaborator Noah Belson, Ice Cream Man is set in the postcard-perfect summer town of Bayleen Bay—until a seemingly harmless ice cream vendor begins handing out treats that trigger horrifying consequences, sending the community spiraling into chaos.
Leading the cast is Ari Millen (Orphan Black), playing the titular role, alongside Benjamin Byron Davis (Red Dead Redemption), Karen Cliche (Thanksgiving), Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer (The Handmaid’s Tale), Charlie Storey, and Roth himself.
Adding to the film’s twisted flavor, Snoop Dogg contributes to the soundtrack, continuing his creative partnership with Roth following the upcoming Don’t Go in That House, Bitch. Composer duties go to Brandon Roberts (Thanksgiving, Andor), setting the tone for what promises to be a chilling descent.
The film’s grotesque effects are handled by Oscar-winning makeup artist Adrien Morot (The Whale, Thanksgiving) and Steve Newburn (Frankenstein, Thanksgiving), ensuring the horror lands as viscerally as possible.
Behind the scenes, Roth produces alongside Kate Harrison of Cream Productions, while Nas executive produces with Peter Bittenbender via Mass Appeal.
Ice Cream Man is also set to make a splash at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 14, with Roth appearing at 12:30 PM alongside promotional activations, swag, and photo ops.
This summer, the dessert is definitely not safe.
