Eli Roth’s Ice Cream Man Is Dishing Out Blood-Soaked Scares This Summer

Horror mastermind Eli Roth (Hostel, Thanksgiving) is back with a chilling new nightmare, Ice Cream Man, set to hit theaters nationwide on August 7 through The Horror Section and Iconic Releasing.

The film takes place in a picture-perfect summer town where everything seems normal—until the arrival of a mysterious ice cream man. What starts as innocent treats for local kids quickly spirals into something far more sinister, as the town descends into full-blown madness with horrifying consequences.

Ari Millen (Orphan Black) leads the film as the titular Ice Cream Man, joined by a stacked cast including Benjamin Byron Davis (Red Dead Redemption), Karen Cliche (Thanksgiving), Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer (The Handmaid’s Tale), Charlie Storey, and Roth himself.

Roth directs from a script he co-wrote with longtime collaborator Noah Belson, continuing their twisted creative partnership.

Adding another unexpected layer to the film, hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg—who is also teaming up with Roth on the upcoming Don’t Go in That House, Bitch—will contribute music alongside composer Brandon Roberts (Thanksgiving, Andor).

On the effects side, the film brings serious firepower. Oscar-winning makeup artist Adrien Morot (The Whale, Thanksgiving) teams up with Steve Newburn (Frankenstein, Thanksgiving) to deliver the film’s gruesome practical effects.

Roth produces alongside Kate Harrison of Cream Productions, with rap legend Nas executive producing via Mass Appeal with Peter Bittenbender.

Sweet, nostalgic, and absolutely unhinged—Ice Cream Man is shaping up to be one of the most disturbing horror drops of the summer.
