‘Fall 2’ Drops Into Theaters This August
Following the breakout success of 2022’s survival thriller, Fall 2 is officially heading to theaters on August 7, with Lionsgate backing the high-stakes sequel. The film will face off at the box office against Ice Cream Man, Super Troopers 3, and the rom-com One Night Only.
Directing duties go to the sibling duo Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig (Predestination, Jigsaw), working from a script by returning Fall creators Scott Mann—who helmed the original—and Jonathan Frank.
The sequel stars Harriet Slater (Tarot), Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story), and Tom Brittney (Greyhound).
This time, the story dives deeper into grief and survival. Still reeling from the death of her sister Hunter, Jax (Slater) forms an unlikely bond with Luce (Thomas), Hunter’s fearless friend. Hoping to find closure, the two attempt the infamous plank walk atop Mount Kwan in Thailand. But when a sudden rockslide leaves them stranded on a narrow platform 3,000 feet in the air, the climb turns into a nightmare. With no way down and nowhere to run, Jax is forced to confront her trauma—or risk never making it out alive.
Behind the scenes, the film reunites producers Mark Lane and James Harris of Tea Shop Productions (47 Meters Down, Obsession), alongside Capstone Studios’ Christian Mercuri and David Haring, with Mann producing under his Flawless banner.
The Spierig Brothers have teased an even more intense experience this time around, aiming to build on the suffocating tension of the original while introducing deeper characters and more brutal stakes.
And the franchise isn’t slowing down—Fall 3 has already been greenlit, with Mann set to return to the director’s chair.
Stay tuned for more on Fall 2, including the official trailer, as the drop date gets closer.
