‘Hokum’: New Image Reveals Adam Scott in Horror Film from ‘Oddity’ Director
A brand new look at Adam Scott (“Severance”) in the upcoming horror film Hokum has been revealed.
Scott stars as Ohm Bauman, a reclusive novelist who travels to a remote inn in Ireland to scatter his parents’ ashes. What begins as a quiet retreat quickly spirals into something far more sinister.
While staying at the isolated inn, Ohm becomes increasingly disturbed by the staff’s chilling stories about an ancient witch said to haunt the honeymoon suite. As the legends begin to seep into his psyche, Ohm is plagued by terrifying visions. When a mysterious disappearance occurs, he finds himself pulled into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest parts of his past.
The film comes from Oddity writer-director Damian McCarthy, whose previous work delivered one of the most unsettling horror experiences in recent years.
Hokum is set to arrive in theaters May 1 via Neon.
The cast also includes Peter Coonan (“The Alienist: Angel of Darkness”), David Wilmot (“Station Eleven”), Florence Ordesh (“Departure”), Will O’Connell (“Game of Thrones”), and Michael Patric (“Frontier”).
Producing the film are Roy Lee (Weapons) and Steven Schneider (Insidious) for Spooky Pictures, alongside Derek Dauchy (Late Night with the Devil) for Image Nation. Also producing are Ruth Treacy, Julianne Forde, and Mairtín de Barra for Tailored Film, as well as Ken Kao and Josh Rosenbaum for Cweature Features.
Executive producers include Ben Ross (Late Night With the Devil), Dan Kagan (Longlegs), Rami Yasin (Late Night with the Devil), and Andrew Childs (The Long Walk).
A full trailer for Hokum is expected to arrive soon. Until then, you can revisit the eerie teaser released back in December.
